Alison is a recent graduate (2022) of RGUHS Bangalore, with a specialisation in Clinical Psychology. She completed her undergraduate studies with a B.A. in Psychology, Criminology, and Rural Development.
Alison has a strong background in Psychology that spans over 7 years, as well as more than two years of experience gained through internships at private clinics and hospitals, where she observed cases, participated in casework and conducted psychological assessments as needed.
Alison is always looking for ways to improve her skills and knowledge. She has completed REBT and ACT certification courses, as well as participated in the webinars on mental health hosted by the American Psychiatric Association. She is a pet parent, who undertook research during her post-graduation on Pet Attachment contributing to the field of Human- Companion Animal Attachment.
Her counseling emphasizes an integrative and holistic approach to mental health. She believes that working in partnership with clients is essential for setting goals and that clients can access their inner strengths and promote change within the structure of the therapeutic relationship. She is familiar with the principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, and psycho-education, and she employs them in her counseling.
